Webmaster Tools Site Verification?

    All of my sites are showing up as "NOT VERIFIED" on Webmaster Central...is anyone else seeing this?

    It says the sites couldn't be verified because of server timeout, but they are all up and running and are not all hosted on the same server. They've been verified for quite some time.

    Anyone else?

    Well, at least I know it isn't down completely--only affecting me.

    I read a little more and saw that some people have had this happen and were rewarded with sitelinks once their sites showed back up. That'd be cool.

    I have had this happen to me several times in the past.

    I didnt change or do anything, and after a day or so, everything was back to normal. Like the others above have mentioned, it is most likely a glitch that will sort itself out sooner or later.

    Did you remove the META tag code from your site ? I had mine show as not verfied because I removed the META tag thinking it was only necessary until once confirmed, but Google wants you to leave it there. Try generating the META tag and add it to your site and you'll show up as verified again.

    Nope, no changes to any of the sites themselves. I'll just wait it out like the others have suggested. Hopefully this is a hiccup due to something good happening for me.

    yes we are have this issues. It started about a month ago. The sites were fine and no problems for over a year in google Webmaster. We did not change anything.

    We go in and verify them again then two days later it happens again.

    I have looked for an answer and cannot find anything. I will continue researching this and post hear if I find any answers.

    Several others are having this problem.

    At least now the message has changed from "server timeout" to "Our system has experienced a temporary problem.", so I'm not going to sweat it to much...looks to be a problem on their end for sure.

    I've had problems before where it said that viewing backlinks was inaccessible and have occasionally had the server timeout issue. The one time it lasted for three days with the inaccessible links.

    If you're going in to check your backlinks, I'd suggest querying Yahoo and alltheweb.com for a more accurate representation of your backlinks.

    in yahoo search ---> linkdomain:mysite.com -site:mysite.com
    in alltheweb ----> link:mysite.com

    Even using the Google webmaster tools, it still never shows as many accurate backlinks as the above two searches.

    If you want to see what pages of yours Google has indexed, you can always use this search in Google

    ----> site:mysite.com

    Hope this helps, because webmasters tools really isn't so important IMHO.
