I have started having a bout of 404 errors showing up in my webmaster tools they all look like: www.mysite.com/&usg=<randomletersandnumbers>

Any idea's what this is or how i can find out where google are finding the links from? my worry is that these will keep growing and effecting my serp's.

if is there away i can use something like the htaccess to strip the &usg=...... so that google hits the right page rather than a 404.

Are you using a content management system??
try and block it using robots.txt or google how you can block it.

Alternatively, depending on how many you have use the tools>remove urls in google webmaste tools.
