Webmaster tools > Set crawl rate slower > any side effects?

    has anyone ever set google to crawl slower and see a side effect? i figure after i have a decent amount of pages indexed then i could slow it down some as my pages dont change often so no need for revisits or am i wrong?

    To be honest I don't think it makes a difference to your rankings or index stats.

    I have personally never seen a difference but then again I have only used 3-5 sites on it so couldn't give you a definate answer.

    It makes no difference in terms of ranking, but it may help you if your content is not updated often as it will save you bandwidth.
