Within google webmaster tools you can set the target country for your website. Would it be beneficial for seo purposes to set up the site for http for the UK and then set https targeting the USA. Would this increase seo / traffic potential? So the same website both in webmaster tools, http for the UK, the https targeting USA. thank you
I don't think so that it would be beneficial. It would lead to duplicate content. I was always thinking that this is just for reporting purposes so dates are are properly counted. For example UK 27th 4AM is same time as 26th 8PM in US.
You should use two separate domains for the US and UK. Using https and none http is not the way to go, you want all your pages to be https anyways to improve SEO.
Rather than HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), this site utilizes HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). Utilizing HTTPS, the PCs concur on a "code" amongst them, and afterward they scramble the messages utilizing that "code" with the goal that nobody in the middle of can read them. This protects your data from programmers. here is my site you can view it also...online timesheet and it is design for US specially.Hope now its easy for you to understand.
