It says I had a crawl error.. if the problem is fixed, does it take awhile for google to re-crawl and see the fixed issue? If so how long about? And if I "fetched" as google (which I did) will this speed things up?

It depends on the site but yes once Google recrawls and a week or so later you should be fine. It depends on your sites backlinks and Google's crawl rate of those links.

There isn't a definite timeline for that, you just need to wait a little until the robots crawl your pages again. While it shouldn't be a long time, its important that you are sure to have removed all the errors, as otherwize the bot will recrawl the problematic pages and you'll have to start over and wait another cycle.

    Hope this helps ;)

Yes it takes few hours or few days to re crawl your web page. If you fetched it takes 2 to 3 days sometimes a week time to get your web page crawl by the google. Mean while make sure you have enough backlinks, and you can also share and do some promotional activities for that url to make them crawl too quickly.

Ping/resubmit your sitemap after updating it then Googlebot should visit shortly to check what's up there.

Rado, thanks for the reply! It was a DNS error and a robots.txt fetch error.. I resubmitted the robots to fetch and it said success.. So I guess just wait for the recrawl then. There were no issues with pages or anything
