hey ok so this its whats happening:

i am the owner of www.animefanpage.com,
after running my site on joomla for a few months i decided to turn on the SEF option built into the joomla back end. everything worked out so i decided to install the extention Xmap for joomla, after seeing some great reviews on it and i created site maps which i sent to bing, yahoo, and google. so far its been like a week or 2 since i submited the the site maps and i updated them a few times since google was only indexing like 6-26 of my urls out of around 3,800 posted on the site map. so today i decided i would speed up the crawl rate and see if it helped my site.... up till the time i speed up the crawl rate i had around 600 indexed pages in google...the number hase gone up since i speed crawl rate up, but the same time so did crawl errors...

    this is what was happening:
googles bots were discovering this page for ex: http://www.animefanpage.com/07-ghost/118-07-ghost-episode-001/07-ghost
but on my site map i have this link:
    http://www.animefanpage.com/07-ghost/118-07-ghost-episode-001

as you see the one google keeps discovering is adding an extra /07-ghost at the end... this page doesn't exist on my site and it is doing this to alot of the urls, 657 to be exact

idk whats wrong when i check the errors list it was saying they were linking form the pages that work, but i don't see any such link on the pages....
idk if it is the site map, but from what i see the site maps have the correct page url showing

can anyone out there tell me whats going on... i've cleaned my cache and trash on joomla, nothing seems to be right.

if some one could help i would really appreciate it!

Chances are that it is either someone on he web linking to you, or an obscure link on one of your pages that is using the wrong URL.

AutoMapIt.com has a 'Link Mapper' tool that will help you find where these extra URLs are coming from on your site. Get the Pro System and let the crawler run, then visit the LinkMapper page and enter your 'bad URL'. It shows all of your pages that are linking to the bum URL.
