I just created a new bass fishing website last week and have been struggling to get it indexed in Google. MSN Live Search indexed it within 2 days! I have got some bookmarking backlinks, 5 blogs should be coming soon, I have posted here a few times, I am posting in Forums, but the fishing forums don't allow my URL in my signature. I have a Blog in Google on bass fishing called "Demise of the Florida Bass Fishery" hopefully to stir up some comments. I have requested link exchanges on several bass sites that are ranked high (they have programs in place). Oh, also submitted sitemaps several times. In Google webmaster tools, it says my site isn't indexed and that's where I've been checking. This evening, I went to the search engine and typed info and site with my URL www.floridabasslakes.com, guess what, it shows up! Even without the info or site, just using floridabasslakes, it shows up. I think that means it's indexed, although the webmaster tools says no. I did notice that the words it has for the description are my table of content links and the template web designer (free one if I left their trademark). Will Google eventually get my correct content, or do I have to do some special SEO technique to get the best description of my site. Please comment if for sure my site is indexed in Google and how I can get the correct content in the description without relaying out the whole page....Thanks
it will get it correct. make sure you have a descriptive page title....proper indexing can take a month or more
Same problem i am facing only home page indexed.I linked all the internal pages to home page and also from home page to internal pages. I have blog on blogspot.com
just post a bit more till you are qualified to put signature in your post here. DP signature is a good and fast place to be crawled by google bot. you will amazed how fast this method effect your site indexed speed XD (am i too exaggerate? )
Thanks Seo Ranter and tradeya! I did see some of my posts show up in info:www.floridabasslakes.com in the site World Wide directory, but they were made here! At least there is evidence that I'm indexed even if webmaster tools in Google says no (maybe there's a lag there). Now I need traffic, good PR! I'm working with some websites that turn up on the 1st page in Google for keywords "bass fishing". I hope they take my link! I may buy some cheap advertising on one of them. Thanks again!
