Webmaster Tools backlinks updating every few days?

has anyone else noticed that webmaster tools is now updating backlinks almost in live time? at first thought was imagining it, but almost every time I log in we're showing significant IBL increases only a few days apart.

historically didn't this usually sit static for the whole term like tbPagerank and update once shortly the PR export?

 

Yeah, I have seen back links updating very quickly.

 

I noticed that about a week ago. I was annoyed because I built a bunch of links and none showed up for a month. Now they change all the time. They are also showing much more than they ever did on my older sites.

 

i can see a situation where we'll be getting daily PR updates before too long as well

 

Yes I was quite surprised to see them updating so often.
Google has something in mind, no idea what though...

 

Thanks for posting this thread. I've been using Yahoo to check my true backlinks because the webmaster's tools seemed to be updating so infrequently but you're right, something is changing.

 

mine stats are going very crazy sometimes it drops to zero and sometimes it shows the real stat , anyways i didnt notice that

I think that mean the pagerank update is on its way.

one of my new blog showing back links and other they all vanished.

 

we had some new "greyed out" pages go to the white PRzero over the last week or so too, not exactly sure when.

they do seem to be playing with it more or less constantly these days.
