Hey, what about, you all leave him and his opinions alone. He has apoint of view, and thats how he feels. End of the story. End of discussion. Point blank. Now when WHT opens, I'm sure the rest of you will flock back over there and leave the poster and his opinions alone. Everybody is entitled to there own opinion. Since when does Digital Point turn into a tag-team match where a poster is critized. Oh thats right, when WHT is down and the flock swarms this way.

You always impress me with your wise thinking ;)

This forum allows any hosting client to get the most wide range of choices with detailed reviews about good/bad sides of a host so it's really important to have this forum online

Those who attach such sites are sick and have envy about a good established business.

Just wanted to say the reason I think that isn't because I was banned or anything. It was a discussion that was had in private and if you search WHT, I still have my account there intact for almost 2 years. Normally what you said would be right, but not in this case.

the forum is online but it is so slow - actually it's always slow but today it's slower than usual

one more thing about WHT - the search function there brings non-related results most of the time - now sure why is this

I get results where non of my search keywords was mentioned at all in the thread showing in results and this is irretating

Firewalls will not protect you from this sort of attack. What they'd be using is a Cisco guard which inspects and attempts to drop packets before they hit the web servers. Depending on the filtering level you can block legitimate users so really effective filters that could block an attack fully could cause issues.

I've dealt with large attacks in the past (1gbit +) with cisco guard hardware but I imagine this attack is even larger than that and more complicated. Most of the attacks I've dealt with have been teenagers with large botnets but no real knowledge.

WHT is a good source, but like any other site really, there is always a driven reason why they still remain, money...

Anyone know what the official word is on the problems? That part of the forum seems to be super secret...

Mia: DDoS attack, what more are you asking? It says it on status page and I was told that personally from admins (used to mod there).

I did not see any mention of anything specific. A DDoS is pretty vague... From where, whom, how? I'm a bit suspect here.. I was able to access other parts of the site, just not the home page, even during the "attack"...

Again, any official word on this? Anyone?

Their database was taking it in the butt so depending on the difficulty of the query it might or might not have worked.
