I have a suggestion Why doesn't digitalpoint separate it's web hosting offers area (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98) into: -Shared Hosting -Reseller Hosting -VPS Offers -Dedicated Servers -Colocation As sub-boards of the main one? It seems silly for people looking for a specific type of hosting to have to sift through irrelevant offers... Thanks!
Thanks for the reply digitalpoint Yes they could but it would be quicker to compare just the titles in a specific section I.e. If I was wanting to sell a dedicated server (or another hosting option), then I wouldn't have to mention it in the title. The title could then have just the most important parts in it e.g. Whether it was Single, Dual, Quad core, the price, the ram and the processing speed. Sometimes people want to compare the VPS deals with the cheaper Dedis and so on, which would be a lot quicker and easier with seperate boards. I think doing this would help grow that section, which would in turn provide more options for DP members Edit: Just did a search for "dedicated server for sale" and got results for Vps servers and even "Web Hosting Articles for Sale".
But I would still be getting VPS offers. I know that changing anything on a huge forum must be extremely hard- but I still believe that seperate sections is the better option. WebHostingTalk uses that method and it works quite well I'd love to hear what others have to say on the subject....
At the moment I am not trying to find anything. This is simply a suggestion because I have seen how a few forums tackle the web hosting section and I personally prefer it separated. However, this is your forum and if you like it the way it is that's fine too...
Well doing something just because someone else does it, doesn't necessarily make it the right way. It would be better to know what the problem is you have (what you are trying to find that you cannot), and then figure out a way to solve that problem.
It is not a forum that focuses only on web hosting. Still there are good deals from several vendors. No need to increase forum rooms. I completely disagree with you.
