Webhosting Affiliate Programs... Are they Worth it?

I'm new to affiliate marketing. I have one successful landing page using PPC making me about $50 -$100 a day in profit. But now I'm thinking about getting into other niches. How is the web hosting niche going?

I know there is tons of competition, the payouts are high and there will be an everlasting need for webhost. Unlike other niches that dry up and go away, web hosting will be around forever.

I've used tons of webhosting companies in my day, I have around 75 websites now hosted at The Planet, I know about windows, linux etc. So I know about web hosting.

Is a simple landing page comparing top 10 webhost enough to suceed in this niche? I would love to design a real top hosting review site, with real reviews and even a forum, I love talking about anything web related.

Anyway... anyone have experience in the web hosting niche...

    And is it worth it?

    Thanks,

This is a real tough niche.

The most critical thing in this niche is you want to sell to people who know the amount of money YOU can make by referring them. Why can they not sign up as affiliates and buy using their own links? Agreed some hosts do not allow that but you always have a friend!!

Hosting affiliate programs can work best if you can have an exclusive offer on your site or one or more hosting plans. Then you have an USP on your site.

Otherwise, it all looks good seeing those $200/sale commission dreams but hardly they come true.

I believe most people who make money from such programs will be those who buy hosting for their clients or refer these plans to their clients.

I think that you need to keep the list of top hosts maximum to 5 cause as you increase the number of products reviewed you can easily confuse the visitor and instead of making a decision to choose one he/she may think to go to other site to find better and less confusing comparison.

I make plenty of money from webhosting, because the payout is huge for each customer (at least for my webhost), but what I do is I offer free set up for the websites I sell so I get a lot of buyers for webhosting.

Nice, so you say install simple scripts or something? Or transfer sites... that's not a bad idea. I have a growing forum on eBay suspensions, and people are getting tired of eBay and wanting to create their own websites. So I've been recommending host I've used in the past and shopping carts etc and not getting paid until now. I feel in the long run, it's a good move to promote hosting programs. We'll see how it goes.

    Wow, 50-100 buck/day
What is the PPC Conversion :)

To run Webhost campaign, it's kinda tough nowadays due to the competitives
In order to make a big buck in Webhost campaign, i suggest you have some unique feature in your landing page
    - list features of your web host program
    - provide comparison on the service with other competitor

My advise: Never Try, Never Know!

    Good Luck!

Well, I'm pretty sneaky when it comes to SEO and content. I'll aim for SEO first and then go PPC, we'll see how it goes! :)

    -Domain Check
    -Landing Page Check
    -Content In progress!
