webhost us or uk

I have had a thorough look at my SERPS using all manner of combinations of keywords and choices of google search sites.

I have a US webhost..totalchoice hosting who are very reliable and cheap.
    My domain is .co.uk

I'll choose one of my keyword search phrases as an example.

    Cambridge portrait photographer:

Google webmaster tools (google usa) #2
    Google UK (the web) #103
Google UK (pages from the UK) #103

Google UK local search results #1

Should I be switching to a UK host or is this plainly obvious since I rank so well on the main google (usa) site which we can't use in the UK?

What are the implications of switching to a new UK host?

    Thanks

Easy fast access? Explain? A web page doesn't take any longer to load because it is hosted in another country.

I am asking if there are any seo implications of transferring my co.uk to a UK host. Also, will google UK rank me higher?

As you can see from the SERPS above, I rank better in the USA (google.com) than I do on google UK.

I only want good ranking in the UK.

yeah well.. i would switch to a uk ip address since, Cambridge is a place in the uk and you want your results to come up in the google.co.uk search

switch to a uk provider, i would suggest someone like... uk2.net or hostfusion, or heartinternet cheap and secure

Shifting to UK based host would be good however you can also do the geo-location to achieve ranking for specific keyword in UK search results.

Yes I set geo and google already said that I was UK because of the .co.uk.

Is there any evidence to suggest that Google UK prefers a British IP? Shouldn't be the case though.

Don't really want to go through with a migration, but obviously if it's the reason why my serps are low in Google UK and would of course give it a go.
