I’m planning to start my own web host and I was told to get a reseller hosting account, what are the step by step procedures I need to take to start up and run my own host from scratch ?

You will need to get a website design. You will also need to get some sort of billing software. I would recommend WHMCS. Those are just 2 of the basics but I hope they help.

You can get a reseller account from HostGator and it has Auto WHM included in the price which will also handle the billing for you. If you need help with the design, I have some templates you might be interested in. My business partner and I recently put one of our templates on Statehosts.com if you would like to see a basic idea.(Statehosts is for sale coincidentally.) I would be happy to assist you with getting set up as a reseller through HostGator as well. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you a coupon code to save you money on the first month.

that you all, so basically what i have in mind to do is get a domain, purchase a reseller package from justhost and use the free template included, set my prices and plans, get staff and done, but here are some things i dont grab

if the R.hosting package i purchase has 75gb disk space and 300gb bandwidth does that mean the highest plan i can put up is 75gb disk space and 300gb bandwitdh or i have to divide it in a way maybe 69 domains wont fill it up ?

how do i set up offices to deal with support, billing,e.t.c

i dont want my clients to pay through credit card but bank deposit so i wont need the whmcs that comes with r.hosting so how do i de-activate it, so that anybody that registers an account will have the account invoiced untill i or the billing/support office activates it after confirmation of bank transfer/deposit

You will definitely want to divide it up because if you make all of the accounts unlimited, you can lose control of your server very quickly if someone starts loading large files. My business partner and I were effectively locked out of his server for a few days last week because we couldnt modify quotas until we got some of the domains off the server.

As far as payment options, most of the WHM programs will let you choose methods of accepted payments. I know mine has a very long list of possible payment processes and each of them has a tick box so you can activate only the ones you want to use.
