As long as people didn't USE the proxy for illegal purposes. Can proxies be held liable for really illegal stuff that happens on them? I would suspect that if there was a REAL cop after you, he'd have knocked on your front door, not on your IP.
It in no way makes sense for a police officer to respond to a support ticket created.. And to say something that makes him self look super unprofessional.. Filing paypal dispute now But either way if i have no domain pointed at the host how can illegal activity happen. It is boggling my mind.
Well being a webhost myself, accepting a proxy server is just a quick way to make money. If I were you I would use free hosts for a proxy. This way if it gets banned its no skin off your nose and you still make some adsense money.
I'm not getting you at all, you say in you original post you had a proxy on it, but now you're saying no domain was pointed to it? So you're saying you didn't update your registar yet, but you had a proxy software uploaded? Like I said proxies are against almost all TOS, if they had no TOS that should have been clue #1 to stay away. No matter what it still comes down to with a proxy you really need a dedicated server, VPS at the very minimum.
Its in my TOS for my web host so i run one on my own server. I don't really like running one though, the bandwidth it very high.
We personally do not accept proxies and most decent sized web hosts don't either. They are abuse nightmares and CPU hogs as well. If you want to run proxy's you'd want a VPS or dedicated server. You can optimize the server configuration for proxy's opposed to some generic hosting centric config. Now on the subject of reliable hosting company's. The issue here is buying from people on this forum. The hosting forum is littered with unlimited accounts, life time accounts ect. These are obviously not going to last there is no unlimited hard drive and there is no way a company can get $40 one time and expect to pay for a server for 50 years or whatever life time really should mean. If you want reliable hosting you should expect to pay reasonable prices essentially.
i own that company he forgot to add all the ticket didnt you sir i really think that everyone on dp should read the convos that we had with you and the reset of the ticket not just a little bit of one and aaron is a support staff member who just happens to be a police officer and even if you dont have any domains pointed to a server then it still runs the proxy in the background.
So what happened that was illegal? Why was it mentioned that Aaron was a cop? A cop on a support ticket?
Lol ya.. there police are so professional they answer a support ticket saying "Hi " instead of remotely getting close to the matter at hand. They allowed proxies when i signed up.. and then suddenly there renta cop says its illegal to own a proxy.. Well start sueing every DP member i guess... everyone has owned a proxy at one time. Shoutserv is a joke... Little kids running it as a quick money making scam. But ya.. pretty much it.. I am going to start up a webhosting business and instead of giving refunds or providing quality service i am going to close there account and say i have a cop after them. ~Gahoo
lol i wish we were kids. aaron is a volunteer he came to us he also keeps an eye on the legality side of things for shoutserv.and whats wrong with saying hi its polite i wish for all my staff to be polite
