Webhost got cops after me for a proxy site?

Wow..

i had a reseller account with shoutserv... That had a proxy site on it.. but after 12 hours it was suspended so i deleted the crap off it and never used it again..

Now they contact me and say "your account is illegal and suspended" saying they have the cops after me..

I dont know what is going on..

Anyone share some knowledge as to what might of happend.

Yeah, proxy servers are not really the best thing to have anyways.

 

So what did the cop say?

 

I am guessing he said something like. Put your hands up, your under arrest for illegal use of a server that YOU paid to rent

 

It is illegal to have a proxy like? No, didn't think so.

 

the use of the word "ya" by a host staff member, tell you it's a cheap reseller account host, keeping your money, telling you the cops are after you.

 

What should i do now then?

 

Wow! They sure've got balls of steel to talk to a client like that. (On another note, they lack business ethics completely.)

After showing no proof of any type of file on my server they went on to call me more names...

Amazing place.. Especially when they bragged to my friend that they terminated 128 accounts...

Stay away from shoutserv and anzx.net(they suck as well) and your webhosting experience will be amazing

 

Not shocked that they terminated a proxy, especially if this was a reseller or standard account.

As far as 'illegal' could be, depends on where they are located Could also be illegal content being served up by your proxy, each host is different.

 

yea and each host can speak well mannered too.

I am going to.. But i doubt they will give it to me..

They have no TOS when i signed up with them.. so how can they pull this crap?

 

how can you not find a no TOS a little strange?

The girl that owned it seemed nice at the time.. So i was like ok and signed up..

What i dont get.. is that if the account is not using any resources because there are none of my domains pointing at it.. Then why terminate it?

Because proxies are hard on servers and even if it isn't using much now it will shortly. They are against almost all hosts TOS for a reason, besides VPS or Dedicated providers.

 

take note, i'm a nice girl just now, but ask anyone here, i can be the biggest bitch on DP when i get pee'd off at someone

 

But that is my point.. They didnt have a TOS. Also there hosting sucked so i moved my domain back to my other host so 0% of cpu usuage was coming from my account. Besides that is no reason to call it illegal activity.

I i own that company I'd fire that guy
