Webhost down-what should i do?

    Hi guys
i am in deep trouble and my 50% of online earnings in trouble:(

The website that was earning me almost half of my earnings is down since last one week and the host is not responding to support tickets, they have been doing a good job since last one year or so that i am with them, hence i don't want to jump the gun and name them here. The issue is compounding as i am having ftp access as well as control panel access (which means the server is up and running), but the site is just not coming up. The problem is the domain is a free domain registered by them along with my hosting package and the domain is registered with yahoo-inc. So i cannot show my website from somewhere else too, now that is a real problem ain't it. The domain registrant details shows the whois as that of my host.

There are certain telephone numbers on the admin and tech registrant details, i have not yet tried them.

What is the best course of action that i should take at this point
    Waiting for some urgent help............

Every hosting company experiences downtime. If everything has been well so far, I would recommend trying to wait it out. There's no use in moving if things are going to be fixed soon. I would recommend trying to call them. If they aren't answering your tickets, they may be focusing on the current network issues.

Down is one thing, down for a week 'w/o' answers from the host is a totally different thing.

However not fully owning your domain is extremely stupid, hopefully you learn from your mistake.

Not much you can do as you allowed the host to have their details be the owner of the domain..

    I know, it is stupid
This was the only domain which was not with me:eek: and all other domains are totally controlled by me(40 of them), i was having a certain good relation with the host as well as they were good with their job hence i didn't bother much about this domain, may be i should give them more time....nothing much i can do right now....i suppose

Definitely consider calling them. One week without a response is abnormal.

Also, I would recommend you request a transfer of the domain registered through them. They should not have a problem providing you with the information necessary to complete this.

I'd start making sure you have backups of all your data and preparing to move to a new host if needed.

If your host does not reply, you can try contacting the registrar (Yahoo) with your invoices for payment of the domain from your hosting company to try to prove that you own the domain.

It's time to switch hosts. 1 week for a reply is too long.

That is a great idea, but i don't think they gave me any receipts when i bought the hosting with free domain, but what i do have is the email from them with setup details, hope that will suffice and also many further communications with them during the last one year.
