Webalizer vs awstats

    Hi All,
    Which stat do you trust the most!. Taking into consideration, that the hosting or you have set up right. I'm getting funny stats, one shows pretty heavy traffic and the other is so,so little over half of the other. but I have had allot of traffic in my directory and I know it.

    I use awstats more, since they offer more valuable knowledge and it is preatty accurate.

    Awstats for me too. It will show all external referrers while Webalizer shows your own website as a referrer which is not required. Also, Awstats looks better & the latest version 6.6 is great. !

    Awstats is best for me. The information is more accurate and displayed in an easier-to-understand format. Very user friendly.

    I use webalizer - or more accurately angolizer, a fully modernized / updated version of webalizer.

    your own site as referrer - that is a matter of your own configuration. normally you exclude your own site as refererrer- in webalizer.conf !!

    the fully updated webalizer.conf shows all data you need - accurately.

    hence since more than 5 years i run only webalizer/angolizer

    This is another fact that I need to explore...last month awstats showed 1173 visits webalizer showed 6000.
    I'm going to look into version and so on, but damn!! that way off. And I'm glad I'm not buying sites based on these stats?? And will look twice on any sites I do buy..
    Allot of you like Google stats, but I'm running, ads, sitemaps, ad words and what I'm afraid of is Microsoft? Microsoft is getting more and more controlling of users, and I see Google do the same..I want yahoo to approve my site also. i will be changing some of my uses around,ad words and ads, but do we really need to be in bed with one engine?
    If I drop over to Google stats, then I do see dropping aws,webalizer and freeing up those resources from the server.

    Drop all and go to Google, or keep one or the other and update if needed?
