Hey DP'ers, Does anyone have any resources about something like "The User Experience of Search" or something along that topic? I ask because I ran into an issue with one of my clients which happens to be a search engine. So here's the situation, when you use a travel banner, search engine banner (ie: You actually type something in the search text box) - Do you just hit enter? Or do you physically move your mouse to the search button and click? Does anyone know of a study or resource on this? (I used Google and found a couple things, but nothing substantial)
I think I would enter in the keyword in the search box and most of times i will press only "Enter" seldom i click wiht a mouse

I'm a big search engine user, I use three ways - use keyboard enter - mouse click submit - I've set up google in my browser to search from the address bar so if i type "google peanuts" in the address bar it will goto the search results page.
I do a lot of research so I began setting my home as about:blank Then I removed google toolbar, instead I installed groowe toolbar: www.groowe.com This is a mult-toolbar with most of the main search engines setup and you can add your own in search preferences. It has a nice feature that changes automatically the search engine accordingly, i.e. if you are visiting yahoo, it changes to Yahoo, when Google to Google and so on. This tool in combination with another toolbar, HTML Quick Edit bar (www.winutility.com) improve my searching experience.
