I just took over a site that has not been using any web stats program for the last three years. I do have access to there log files. Is there anyway I can plug log file info into a program that will then show me the websites? I am hoping to do this with Google Anyltics. Thanks.
You can do this with AWStats. Unfortunately from my memory it was an absolute headache to sort out on our Windows servers trying to post date everything. Is the account on a shared server, or dedicated? I used this guide here : http://www.ihsen.com/support/InstallingAWStatsOnIIS6.pdf . Which is actually for IIS (Windows Server). But it will work if you download the log files to your own PC and then work through your guide. Alot of it involves setting up the logs to actually be viewable by the public, but you can skip this and just get to the part about it spitting out the HTML files.
You may try to use webalizer. It's available from http://www.webalizer.org/ Geen. -- http://gostats.com
