    Hey guys, my site ranks really well for MSN, what can I do to improve ranking on other engines, as I am not even in top 200/300 on most of them?

    Google takes some time to rank with a new site, and yahoo seems that maybe it's the same with them as well. MSN is very fast and I don't think they take backlinks into consideration at all.

    Submit to directories not search engines. get some good inbound links and you will be able to rank in the other SEs

    Research the competition, get the same backlinks as them, create new fresh content, and then get more backlinks.

    MSN takes in site quicekr then all the other SE's.

    MSN is the best friend of new sites. But if you are thinking about google thn it can take upto 6 months to get noticed. And some sites even take a year. I have 3 sites which are in sand-box situation right now. And 2 of my sites have completely disappeared from the listing. So will have to wait and see what is there in future for them.

    The best option right now for you is back-linking. qulaity content.
    If you are selling any products then customer satifaction adn support also counts.

    MSN was the first engine to crawl/list my site..and lemme tell ya, it may not be the biggest SE but it brought me in some decent hits.. Then i got some good/quality front page link exchanges going as well. MSN isn't all that bad, it just takes more time with the other SE's..be patient and keep new content coming..

    MSN is nice and good but google is not good. it makes me angry at it whenever i see my sites falling down.

    MSN tend to index my new sites quite fast and rank well. But it doesnt give much traffic as compared to super google.

    Google takes into account the age of your site.

    MSN is great for alot of reasons including ranking of course. The exposure of backlinks is a great way to do homework on the competition for example.

    One aspect to consider is to use MSN to rank better in Google.

    I am a MSN fan too . They index fast and rank on marit.Google has its own methodology and rank sites gradually to avoid spamming etc!while yahoo people deserve to be hanged as it looks they rank only their own sites to seize all the visitors.

    I agree Yahoo is going down hill fast and I don't think it will be long till we see a shift in who is the number 2 SE.

    While I'd much rather have the google/yahoo traffic it is so much easier to get some high MSN rankings without too much effort
