This may be a thread that's happened before but I'm just getting to know y'all so I thought I'd ask....super curious to find out how many sites everyone has. How many do you run that are yours? Do you manage client sites? What do you do for a living/work? Right now I have one main site, and seven others that are mine (in various stages of ramping up). I've had some sort of personal blog off and on for four years, and my first business related site went live in 1997. I sold that in 2000. I have two other sites which I help out as freebies for friends. Then there are numerous sites which I manage in some form or fashion for clients. I work out of a home office doing freelance web design, Internet marketing, and business development consulting. I'm pretty damn happy about that. My dogs keep me company and I have a garden to take breaks in. Work keeps me busy. Also, I'm old...but I still get carded!
Got about 8 or nine sites up and about 400 domains to develop one day when investors and a few good developers get together to do something with. In the mean time DS, can I wander through your garden? Old? Na.....
I'm running about 8 sites at the moment in various stages of completion. I work in marketing at the moment, though soon I'd like to go full time. I'm not far away from that right now. I'd also work on my own sites rather than clients. There's more money to be made that way.
Any of you guys know how I can get some link exchanges set up??? I'm a new site and I really need the help getting going.... http://www.amarillocomputerguy.com
Hey Josh, Go to Link Development under Marketing here on the boards. Most web/seo related boards have folders where they allow you to request link trades. There is also a folder called Directories under Search Engines. Start hunting through these types of threads and you'll pull up a lot of free directories that are web and computer related. That would be the best place to start building backlinks for your site. Also you can do a search on Google...try yourkeywords+"add url" or "submit site". That will usually pull up sites that have link trade pages. Looked at your site and noticed you only have a single "links" page. You might want to consider creating something more like a resource area with multiple pages categorized by topic. Don't call it links...give it a name that relates to your site. I call mine "web marketing resources". If you need a link managment script check out www.LinkMachine.net The free version is probably the best freebie links script I've researched.
What if I changed links to Computer Software or Maintenance Software or Free Software....let me know what you think. I have several ideas of other free software I'm going to ad... let me know if you have any suggestions for quality freeware... thanks!
Josh....how about "Software Sites" or "Software Exchange"? Also, you should edit your sig link here. Shorten it down to your keywords like "Free Software and Shareware"
Thanks for the input! I appreciate it! Any suggestions are appreciated! Do you think FREE SOFTWARE instead of links is very good??
