    Hi freinds,

If any one can answer my questions regarding web server logs, I would be very greatful to you.

My questions may seem silly. But I really need an answer.

Are these log files inbuilt with a website hosting service. I mean do we need to create or configure a web server log file?.
Where I can locate my log file in my website.
Is it accessible through web browser.
whats the extension of a log file.
Is there any log fIle Intrepreting softwares.

    Thank you

A good web hosting service (offering you CPanel access) will give you access to both a web based stats system like awstats or webalizer and access to the raw log files which you can download to your local computer to be analyzed with any software you own.

You should ask your web host how to access your server logs. Be aware that some web hosts configure server logging not to capture search keywords from search engine referrals by default (to save disk space) unless clients ask them to enable it.
