Hi, I'm hoping to make a website in the coming weeks. I'm trying to plan it all out and come across a problem which I hope that someone is able to help me with. I learned a lot about ftp yesterday and I'm planning to make a website with Wordpress > ftp to a web server. I'm told that Nginx is the best but is well out of my budget to start with, after a lot of research I came across HostMetro. They host for just $2 a month, my main concern is what's the difference between a web server and a site host? The price makes it seem a lot but reading into it that's not the case. I'm new to this so any response is much appreciated, thank you.
Site host use web servers and host can use different web servers. so ask support what web server they use.
Go to the webhostingtalk.com forum, they will tell you everything you need to know about web servers, web hosts etc. A web server is simply a specially configured computer that is used by a web host to deliver content on the internet.
