Anybody out there got expereience of tracking rich internet applications such as sites that use AJAX or flash for shopping carts rather than html. The problem I am facing is that there are no page requests to track. Presumably I can insert javascripts into Flash which are triggered when a customer completes a business event such as successfully adding their billing address etc. Not being that technical I would appreciate any advice. Especially around how to integerate this with more traditional web analytics. If anybody has a solution that can do this I wouldlove to know.
You've spotted one of the difficulties inherent in Ajax. Search online for 'usability problems with Ajax', before you go on in this direction...
Cheers - I've taken a quick look and there is definitely a lot of dicussion out there. I want to be able to measure how people use AJAX/Flash sites so I can answer all these usability questions. May be even compare performance versus the html pages these technologies have replaced. Any tips?
