I am looking for a counter to put on a site (I have put Shawns up there) but I was wondering if there was a counter that gave some web log information (how they found you etc...) I used to use one way back before I had my own servers and logs. Any help?

If you're looking for a wordpress counter/tracker, then stattraq is an excellent option.

If it's for blogger, then any old tracker will do...
Stat counter is quite good. I use it on a site. Saying that, Site Meter Is really popular on blogs too.

Or were you looking for something different?

Sorry SE, the first one Stattraq. It looks like some php issues would arise with that one. The server that the site I am working on is not hosted on one of mine, as such, PHP is not installed.

    Oh, right...

So, are you using a blogger install then?

If you are then something like the second two I listed are your only real options.

You could get a log file analyser though.... (If you get log files) ;)

No, there is no blogger, the options just looked better. I am looking for a hit counter that I could then login to another site and look at the logs. I thought I had seen one of these elsewhere. Thanks for trying Oliver.

    Thanks SE,

I am trying it now. The site I am working on gets a tonne of visitors but they won't upgrade servers or services (they have their site framed and being hosted on a free server). Crazy. I will blow past the 100 page views shortly...
