I'm thinking of signing up for a web host soon and I have some questions about the tools you can use once you sign up. 1. In most of the hosts I've seen that you can add some phpBB-forums. I wonder if I can add that forum to my site and then legally put up ads on it? 2. What's the most useful tools you use? 3. Do you use the site builder that's in the web hosts feature? And lets say if I did, could I legally put up ads?
you can put ads on any site that you want to. I just wouldnt put that as your initial primary focus. For almost any host, it is easy to install phpbb (or other forums) as you see fit. The site builder that comes with hosts, well I personnally dont like them. But some people have used them to create some fairly nice sites. Regarding the best "tool" well I think you would be better off with wordpress (choose theme, write a page or 2 and jobs done) and just install a forum either way, put your focus on getting CONTENT, and then PROMOTING and getting visitors, then once you have a steady number of visitors per month, lets say minimum 1000UV then think about ADS
1. yes you can 2. photoshop, dreamweaver, filezilla 3. I don't use sitebuilder. It's better if you'll install wordpress or other CMS using the tools on the web host. It's more SEO friendly, easier to use, cleaner codes, and has more theme choices. Sitebuilder doesn't look good the codes are not optimized and validated.
