Hello, I would like to know your thoughts on conversion rate for keyphrase "web hosting reviews". How many of 100 visitors coming from Google do you think would order a hosting? Your thoughts appreciated.
Its depends on several aspects, but mainly how easy your website is to use and how sell it sells your services to the visitor. If they are looking for a review website then they are not looking for a hosting company but a REVIEW website about hosting companies at that very point so conversion would be ZERO. this is because your selling not reviewing hosting.
If you have a content rich website that is truly designed to review websites and not a hard sell affiliate website I think a .5% to 1% conversion rate would be good, just not likely considering the huge number of similar sites and the massive amount of competition that exists. With some hosting companies offering $100 per referral it could still be profitable if you have unique content with the right keywords. There is a video that shows an affiliate marketer, Andrew Fox maybe, bidding up to $100 per click on google adwords for a web hosting keyword and he claims it was very profitable, so I think with some testing you should be able to find a way to make your review site profitable.
