do you mean buying a reseller account and making a hosting comapny?
    or
buying/renting a server and selling reseller hosting?

Godaddy has a deal. It's something like $75/year for a basic reseller package and $400 per year for an advanced package.

They give you wholesale pricing and you resell it at whatever price you want. (i.e. you pay $7 for .com registrations and then sell domain registration service for $8 like GoDaddy.com does and make $1 on each domain, works the same way with hosting).

a reseller account is usefull if you have many domains you need to be hosted, its all done under 1 account usually using WHM.

a reseller account cost a bit more, but works out cheaper then buying say 5 diff hosting packages.

I'm a reseller, I bought it so I could host my own domains and I host a few others, but making 5 or 10 bucks a month off of a few hosting accounts wasn't my goal.

GoDaddy has a deal with Google where they make money for each of those coupons they give away. Giving away free stuff like that is really common, it's just hard to find free PPC/SEO related stuff.

The main costs would be from buying reseller licensing from godaddy (see page1 for the link). Then add a budget for ppc if that's what you want, so I'd say $1000 would probably be a good starting point. If you know seo you could do it for much less.

Make a site, get it out to as many sites as you can. Many resellers make it easy to sell, they handle the credit card part and just send you the profits.

Hey, I've seen a lot of these posts regarding web hosting solutions. I've also decided to go into the same line of business... However, there is a lot of competition so I will be starting off with really cheap packages so that people can see for themselves what we offer. It will be started off my server from layeredtech which cost over $1000. Layeredtech guarentee 99% uptime or they will refund the difference. I've never had a problem with this server and it was origionally hired to host my own websites. I know that this is a high value market and a very highly competitive market but I'm going in this confidently and I think that competition is good and will make me work harder for my return. I hope this post helps someone! :) Wish me luck folks!
