Without any doubt HostGator is superior over Godaddy. Don't use godaddy for hosting only as a domain registrar.

There are a lot better hosts out there than Hostgator, but between the two, definitely HG. GoDaddy is a great domain registrar, but terrible web host.

hostgator, I barely trust godaddy with my domains nevermind my hosting.

plus there pricing sucks at godaddy :D

I run monitoring on my service and have 99.99% always

other services I have more downtime always and ive tried so many.

keep things simple and go with what really works when it comes to your website your uptime is your bread and butter

on that note check out pingdom
