Hello everyone, I spent some time reflecting on the skills and knowledge I have gained in the past 10 years which occurred by the various emails I get asking for advice and help. If you are planning on starting an online venture and want to own a few sites the advice i can give you is to get a reseller hosting account. A reseller hosting account allows you to have one account and create as many sites as that account permits you to. I prefer using a WHM and cpanel account because 80% plus of hosts out there in the WWW using this package setup. The good thing is you will be able to move from one host to another using this method and many hosts do this for you for free. WHM is the control panel where you can manage settings for your hosting accounts and where you can create hosting packages for your websites. Cpanel is what you use to manage the website like emails, setting up databases and so on. You can pick up good packages for around the $20 - $30 mark and manage 10-20 websites no problems as long as they are not huge database driven systems. Hope this helps. Others may want to add more to this if you wish to. Thanks Joe
Like to vouch for cPanel and specially the new version with stylish look and improved file manager like the video tutorials on every page of cpanel that help newbies get started with all cPanel functions as well
Thanks Tech Entrance. I did forget to add what you posted in. Also I just remembered another great feature of the new cpanel version is that you can now create a database and assign a user in one simple step. I remember doing this for the first time and how confusing it was but now its simplified. Its an awesome and has come a long way. Joe
Thanks for the post... I'm starting my online business venture and will definitely look into these tools =)
I'd like also to point to what was said in this thread As so many clients fall for dirt cheap or the so called "unlimited" and "lifetime" offers that turn out to be scam on all cases and the forum is full of such tragedies if anyone wants to check
