I do not know what all experiences you have on web hosting companies i have had only pleasant experiences in my 2 years of webmastering For first time ever, i had a bad experience with Startlogic. com 15 days back i took a hosting plan of theirs by paying 71 bucks for unlimited domains hosting with a free domain name included, it took them full 6 days to get the domain name registered and resolved with dns. I needed another six domains to be registered through them, they kept shuttling my mail between support, sales and billing. In the end (after almost 15 days) i got a half english mail saying they will not be able to register the domains, but i will have to do myself and then tell them, that is for customer service. I have already forgotten my 71 bucks and gone ahead and taken another host, let them enjoy the 71 and forego another 7100 i was planning to pump in with some 500 websites being planned. Business gone bad, all beware! has anyone had such bad experiences with hosting, i m sure many had, do share!
I haven't heard anything convingcingly good about starlogic...bad support, incompetent staff etc. I'd reather stay away from these overselling hosts and register domains with only experts like namechep, godaddy, etc.
I always register my domain names on Namecheap or godaddy. For hosting i provide quality hosting. PM me if you want more info. - Prilep
For domain registration, GD is great.. Cheap, easy to use, etc.. For hosting, had you considered Hosting Lizard? We've been around for over 10 years now, and offer fast reliable service. I would not recommend you to go with godaddy for hosting. Domain yes but hosting no. You will have many problems. PM me if you want reliable hosting. - Prilep
use this coupon if you are using godaddy: gdm1016pl or this one: gdm1007b I think one of them will give 12% discount. Actually I've been hearing strange things about godaddy, I've read some horrible, real horrible story about godaddy holding for ransom all the domains of someone because of a spam complain, they wanted $200 for each domain as the man had a few they wanted $4000 to let him get access to his domain again. Is this possibly true? Paul
Try www.nestsites.com, the first month is free for all our plans ( to test our services before paying ). We use enom as registrar.
Check out webhostingtalk.com for good reputitive webhosts like knownhost, jaguarPC, and steadfast. Always register your domains with providers that arn't your webhost.
ok, then i have around 6 domains there at godaddy, i was thinking to host with godaddy to avoid the hassle of transferring the domain to some other host, can someone guide me which is the easy way out if i have to keep the domain registered at godaddy and host it somewhere else, what procedure do i have to adopt Thanks
There is no hassle. You don't have to transfer the domains. Just leave them at GoDaddy.. Simply change the whois records to reflect the new hosts name servers. Takes all of 2 minutes to change. It's pretty easy to host just about anywhere. No need to transfer your domains. Most hosts, us included will even help you with the changes!
I've already tried godaddy, their hosting sucks for dynamic sites. If you plan to use database-driven sites, stay away from godaddy. Hosting is very slow.

what ever you take stay away from Tigershosting.com they are a scam (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=507494)
If you're hosting a lot of sites, it's honestly worth your time and effort to grab a Debian virtual private server, install ISPConfig on it, and manage things yourself. I *highly* recommend Linode.com for VPS hosting; I've used them for years with almost zero downtime. Their customer support is outstanding, and they have a very active user community that is always willing to help newbies out with virtually any question you could have regarded Linux or server setup. Good luck!
