offcourse yes, they are able to do it, but that can cause problems if you know your provider is doing it.

Your domain name registrar will not be able to login to your cPanel, unless you bought your domain from the same provider you got your hosting from. Its only natural that your hosting provider would have access to your account though, which is normal so that they can help troubleshoot when you submit a ticket or when you ask questions about your account.

Just keep your scripts updated, disable directory indexing, use hard to remember passwords for everything (cPanel/FTP/emails/databases/scripts/etc...), will probably be the most effective way you can keep yourself safer from an end-user standpoint. Your host probably has other measures in place to help with security as well.

Your data is always safe if you consider the right hosting provider. The hosting company will only login to your control panel or access your data only if there is any troubleshooting work to be done. None of the good hosting provider would do anything illegal with your data. It's always recommended to opt for a right hosting provider.

Yes we can access customers cpanel and even change the password for it. Just changing the password on your end won't keep your hosting provider out.

We would only access your cpanel account if we need to troubleshoot or fix something for you.

Sure they can if you will use shared hosting plan. But why do they need it?
