Hi. I am having such bad luck with hosting this past month. I tried 5ite.com and it was unreliable. I am using a2hosting.com at the moment. Expensive and the losers don't seem to understand how to even fix server issues. I want to know if a VPS is a good choice for me... I am worried that I won't get the kind of support and help I need and it won't have any cpanel features or one click script installs. Is that true? I plan on hosting 7 websites ...traffic would be 10gb at least since I'll be marketing a lot. Any advice would be perfect right now. I am so tried of crappy hosting companies that cost a ton of money but don't live up to expectations. I feel so lame for not even understanding this VPS thing.. Advice please?
Just find a good shared host. Not really sure why you would need a VPS. There are crappy VPS companies out there too, so moving to a VPS doesn't necessarily mean that things are going to be better. Off the shelf, no, you don't get cPanel with a VPS. You normally have to purchase it extra, for anywhere from $10-15, maybe a tad cheaper, depending on your provider. The one-click script installers are an additional couple bucks per month.
VPS is needed if you need slightly more resources and control over your site. Also if needed some special software. But consider that you might need knowledge on how to manage it, because it's not only just installing a vps control panel like cpanel or etc.
I think you need host with good reputation, affordable pricing and good support such as Hostome.com. Check their website to know more about offers.
If you are into marketing, the best advice is to get a VPS. That because you will need a dedicated IP to do you SEO with and also you will be using a lot of CPU which with shared hosting they will just have to flush you out.
