    Ok,

My web hosts jsut emailed me telling me that my foles were insecure due to a 777 so suspended my account.

They now tell me that if my site is to be unsuspended then all files will be lost, i have hundreds of files and mysql databases lost becuase of this.

Can a web host legally delete everything from your space that you are paying them to host??

What does their TOS say re: this? When was the last time you made a back up?

doubt it give us a link to the aup / tos pages, unless they specifically state otherwise they assume full responsability of your data, and even then need your permission to change something as your site could contain confidential financial information for not just you but your customers.

Read thoroughly through the TOS...maybe that will put your mind into some kind of understanding as to just what they will do.
    Best of luck.

    It states
Basically it states they do not make backups - it seems they rely on you, the customer, to back up your data. They are there to host your site. There are some hosting companies that will do backups as well of your data (for a fee) and I am sure MidPhase will do that as well.

But it seems they are not responsible for backups
