So I hate this Web History thing and it seems that everytime I have disabled it today, after just a short period it re-enables itself!

    Anyone else notice this?

F*&k you Google. Stop trying to mess with my results!

if you stay logged in to yur google account, google will know your search pattern and will provide results based on your previous searches. just dont stay logged in to your google account when you make a google search. or you can use 2 browsers, IE and FF. i myself also hate google collecting info on my search behavior and use/retain them. pure invasion of privacy is what i call it

Uh, you don't need to log in to google...for them to track your searches (and change your SERP results).

They announced this quietly about 3 weeks ago.

Google is always tracking you.

That's right, you don't have to stay logged in, in your Google account.
They are tracking your search behavior through cookies and web History.

You need to logout from your Google account first.
Then delete all the cookies and cache and check again.

No!! for that you need to click on "Web History" button (look for the top right corner of your screen on search result page), and then "Disable customizations based on search activity"

To confirm, I am not logged in and every now and then Google decides to switch my web history to enabled again.

Clear your browser cache if you want to see real results. If you choose about 3 times a result from a search and you have history enabled you'll see that picked result will be first for the same search. After you clear your cache you'll see the correct SERPs result.
