i want to start General Web Directory in my country using PhpLD Free version. I will collect data (web URL, email, address, phone number, etc.) from other websites or where the data is already published... note : i will collect and add to my directory by myself. simple question from me...Is it legal... ?
I don't think is legal is you intend to store website information on your directory but it will be very hard work for u.
I think theres nothing wrong with that, anyone can add to a directory, including the owner, so go right ahead.
I can't see any illegal in that (maybe except the phone number), but to be on the save side - why not mailing them that they are listed. Ask to update the information, you might get some featured links
Also, please note that the data you have is not copyrighted to you but how you collected is. And if info's owner ask you to take it down you have to comply. I'd been doing data entry job myself, suck a tedious and eyestraining work. +_+ Have fun. ^^
