Web directory - on sub-domain or sub-folder of a main site?

    Hi guys,

    I am establishing a business service site and will add a business directory to it. Please advise me - should I add the directory to the sub-domain or sub-folder of the main site?

    i.e. directory.my-main-site.com or my-main-site.com/directory ?

    I prefer using subdomains. Subdomains are easier to move off to a separate server (dedicated IP) if traffic grows.

    subdomain sounds more SEO friendly and standard plus i agree with idmstudio...

    From what I have seen, I would choose the sub-domain option.
