I was thinking to write this topics since many days and finally got time to write it. Here is my series of post explaining web directories, their working etc. explained for newbies in the directory world, who know nothing about directories. Web directories explained - 6 part series The series has - Introduction To Web Directories What are the best tools for a web directory? How to make money from web directories? How to launch a successful web directory? Free or paid directories. Which is best for link building? Talking about bid directories So hope to get some good feedback from this, and hope this is helpful for people new into the directory world.
It's good information regarding directories and will help those new to directories and even some that are not so new. The only suggestion I would offer is to cover reciprocal link directories. It has been discussed that directories which require/permit reciprocal links in exchange for paid submissions may be targeted by Google. I don't know much about this, but recall Jeff discussing it in Aviva Directory's blog.

Hey Chetan, just read it on my feed reader, Really very nice articles there I personally liked the 2nd part a lot.
Now if only they could somehow find these posts or miraculously learn the search function prior to posting the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again....... Oh well keeps us busy right?
Thats the only sad thing i see! They never search for anything, neither in forums, nor in google.. they just post the noob questions and expect us to answer each one of them!
If i could suggest, vote or do anything on DP, i would like this post to be made sticky! Frankly, this thread (if made sticky) would stop at least 1000 similar and to some extent useless threads be made every year! Good work Chetan. I see you put in lot of hard work in adding this resource. Good job!
Thanks fear and iPod I don't want it to forcibly be stuck, but i think yes if its sticky, people might atleast stop asking the same questions again and again.
