For me, it's really not on the years of experience but the capability to learn new stuff/technique and to do quality works. As a beginner, my former coach payed me $350/month as a web developer for 4 months. Now that he insisted me to leave the team and be a freelancer, I earned a min. of $288/ month for 4 hours/day.. Then another $232 from my former coach which is my client now. I'm working as a freelance web developer for only a month now..
I think I should add tax in my question. How much is your salary as a web designer and how much is your tax?
I don't agree with that mate. Experience always matter. When I started as a freelancer (without any portfolio), it was hard to get projects or even to get responses from clients; as their first question was "show your portfolio". And now, when I have something to show them; with a variation (in design and development work), clients do respond. So mate, it's not about country, it's about experience AND it's about how you handle clients. I like the reply of @1812; point no. 3...It's all about how you CASH your skills and portfolio. Hope this helps.
time to spell my salary... I'm the one who started this thread. I'm from the Philippines. working part-time and full time at home my clients are from different country. I get for about $1,071 years of experience 1year and 9months.
