    Hi,

I want to know your opinion as a web designer working as a freelance or employed in a firm or both.

    1. What type of designer are you? Freelance or Working in a Firm
    2. "Estimated" Income in a year?
    3. Hours of work?
    4. Benefits Working in a Firm or as Freelance
    5. Downside of Working in a Firm or as Freelance

    Thanks! :)

freelancer is better because you get more deals than when you work for single company.

but both , if you can , is the best :)

As cveks said, do both! :D

    1. I am now a freelancer, looking forward to work in a firm.
    2. Started freelancing recently, will know soon.
    3. Same as above.

I am in a hurry, can't answer the rest now but I would love to see some good input into this.

In my opinion, working as freelance give us a freedom how much we earn salary. if you join with firm, you get fix salary (at least in my country). But the best is you do both.

Being a freelancer, you can work at wherever and whenever you want. :D Plus you have more freedom and you can easily upgrade your skills anytime you want. Although there are cons also like no fixed pay but then think of it this way, every project you have, the pay is all yours. :p And besides, freelancers are cheaper!

although working as a freelance has its perks, unless you're experienced it can be very hard. Even if you're experienced it can be very hard.

Although you have the chance to make more money as a freelancer than simpy a designer on salary, with a job you have more security knowing you'll have a job tomorrow without any effort on your part.

More women tend towards stable jobs, and more men towards freelance. Because of this, some men make more money than most women, and some men go bankrupt.

Even if you were planning to freelance, it would still be essential that you had experience working WITH a company just to know how the industry works - and it also works to your advantage trying to pick up freelance work if you can prove you know your stuff because you worked at a company before. It proves that you have the minimum level of skill required to work in the industry because you did. If you don't do that, and just want to freelance you're going to have a hard time learning, and it might not be easy finding good clients because you won't have had any solid experience.

My advice, get a job job and then after a year or two you'll know whether freelancing is right for you right now or not.

Both have the advantage and disadvantages, I would like to mention some of the advantage for the freelancer; Of course there are disadvantage also.

    Advantages of freelancer:
If you are successful sky is the limit
You are not answerable to anybody (except client)
No time restrictions like office hours
