Hi - Call it bad luck or the kind of profiles I shortlist but I have been dealing with lot of designers who have been unreliable. On 4 different occasions out of 5, I have landed up shortlisting good designers who are very unreliable. They start the project and after 2-3 days stop responding and come back to me after 4-5 days mentioning that they have personal problems. Others who have been chasing me consistently for work (very reliable) on these forums, I haven't found their work to be of quality. Is there anyone who is reliable web designer and have good quality? Please PM me with your web 2.0 portfolio - I prefer white/lite colors with a little bigger font (cufon or web 2.0ish) and your availability. Don't ask me for budget as I have decent budget for this.
I think there are a lot of reliable designers, but a lot of hacks too. That is the plus and minus of DP. You don't have to pay to post or bid on projects, so there is no obligation on either side to show their seriousness or true intent. What is true about anyone in any field, if they don't feel the amount of work is worth the pay, they won't continue to work.
