Web Design v. Social Life

    Hey guys,

I've had my main site up for years and have always been meaning to dedicate a lot more time to making some money off of it. I've also recently built 2 new sites and have a couple more ideas up my sleeve and am starting to see the benefits of Adsense.

I share a house with 5 other people and I feel really anti-social when I head up to my room right after dinner, never to be heard from again for the rest of the night. I love working on my sites but I'm starting to feel like I'm hiding away in my room all the time. On the weekend I'll usually meet up with mates at a pub or something but during the say it's the same story of being a hermit in my room.

All these things I want to get done will take LOADS of time and, while I hate being anti-social, I'm thinking of the long term payoffs with a bit of short term sacrifice.

What about you guys... how do you balance a regular job and your social life with a hobby/business that is pretty demanding time-wise (especially when in the setup stage).

    Cheers,
    Kirsty

If you make enough and do so efficiently, you can set your hours to 9-5 and force yourself to take some time for yourself.

I never work on the weekend (well, during busy times I may spend an hour answering emails)....I don't think Web Design/Online Business = No life

Afterall, there are many other obsesions or hobbies that can have the same effect

Working 9-5 doing web design would be fine with me but it's getting to that point that is the tricky part... especially adding a 1 hour commute on each way.
