This book mentions quite a few commonsense methods that people leave out during designing. That is people who have no experience with web design whatsoever. First off, the eBook seems like any other book out there looking to get some quick cash with general low quality content, it has ads and referrals all over it and really doesn't provide anything new, if maybe you have never seen the web before in your life. It has all the popular tips circulating on websites and blogs in the 90's and you can get more information reading out of digitalpoint's Web design area. If this book was free, by all means you should give it a light read skim over perhaps drill in those things you already know for about 10 years. It has 24 pages and asks for $29. I really dont know what else to say other than that. just hit back and start reading those other free articles you can read online, probably get more info anyways.
If the website itself is indicative of the book, then keep it - and I suggest others steer WAY clear. 52 validation errrors, no doctype, no CSS, presentational markup, crappy little fixed width stripe, nothing resembling semantic markup, incorrect semantics (paragraphs around elements that aren't paragraphs), tables for layout, 7 tables for layout on a page that even AS tables shouldn't need more than ONE, table's wrapping single TD, 7k of markup for 2k of flat content (so basically DOUBLE what should be needed for markup) It's very 1997... too bad this is 2008. If you are going to have a book about web design with free templates, perhaps it should be on a website designed with MODERN techniques instead of decade out of date methodologies? This is EXACTLY the type of rubbish I've been trying to steer nubes WAY clear of. You want I can review the PDF the same way.
