Hello all. I'm new to web design and I was wondering which is the best and most popular website design software. I'm currently using free software that comes with my hosting but I dont like it. Thanks

Microsoft Expression Web is also pretty good, a far cry from the bad days of Front Page.

Dreamweaver is probably the most popular, phpdesigner is a good free alternative.

Dreamweaver and Frontpage are the most common, but they aren't free. I would suggest visiting download.com or something and finding a free one out there, i'm sure there are tons. good luck :)

I downloaded dreamweaver trial from download.com.
It looks nice, but I'm having trouble moving and resizing boxes on the template I used

go with notepad if you are just learning. it will make you appreciate the subtleties of code, then go to split designer like dreamweaver so you don't have to rely on wysiwyg crap

you cant compare dreamweaver and notepad++. one is wysiwyg and the other is text editor. if you prefer designing in a wysiwyg environment then use dreamweaver. but if you prefer to code, then there is no point of wasting ur money on it. just use notepad++, the best text editor i've used!! and its free

to answer you question, no. editors have no effect on SEO.

I suggest you do some in depth reading about SEO
