Hello Everyone, I run a number of websites, and have always had an interest in web design and coding, but I have never been able to teach myself, I find some tutorials hard to follow and there is little help if you get stuck. Therefore I was wondering if anyone would be interested in giving me lessons? Maybe for an hour or two everyday for a few weeks?! I would love to be able to design websites. Maybe if you run a web design company you could train me and I could then become part of your company? Thanks Jonathan
Have you tried looking at getting some books from your local library? I self taught, and there's a lot of resources ranging from websites containing tutorials, to books. Is it essential to recieve a mentor? Is this the method in which you learn best?
Hi Guys, Grit: Yes it is important I have a mentor because when following tutorials I often get lost or confused and end up closing it. Twistedspikes:I am from the Exeter, Devon in the Southwest. risoknop: I might pay for the right mentor Thanks Jonathan
Actually nevermind, I'm not from GB so I couldn't meet you, unless you thought online lessons. You should buy some thick book about HTML and CSS with plenty of examples. That's how I learned everything. Just remember to buy the biggest book you see. Also make sure it's new. There's no point in learning outdated techniques. Also, take a look at www.htmldog.com. There are many HTML & CSS tutorials for absolute beginners. They are very well explained.
Hi Guys, I dont mind whether it is online or offline, whatever way I can learn to design, I currently have downloaded a 30 day trial of photoshop, but what software do you find best to design with? Thanks
Google is your friend, I learned the hard way, by messing around and I got pretty good. I can show you some basics PM me.
My main problem is that I can follow a tutorial to a certain point, then get stuck, I am also on an iMac so some tutorials are even harder to follow!
Do you have MSN or any other instant messaging client? it'd make you easier to teach. it'd make some more people offer their service to you (if you're lucky even for free)
