    Hi.
I am trying to write my own terms and conditions for my new web design, web hosting and SEO website. Unfortunately I have found this harder then I expected it to be.
Does anyone have any tips / know any websites that are useful for doing this?
    Thanks.

    Hello,

I recommend taking a look at previously developed TOS/TOC and PPs. Then create an outline based on a previously created one, and then go from there. I also recommend if you do not want to get into legal issues down the road have your business's lawyer look over it, revise if necessary and have him make sure it is 100% fully legal within your state or country. :)

Get a lawyer. Do not (again for emphasis: not) use a free ToS/PP generator and expect it to give you any legal coverage whatsoever.

Well then you can just grab one off of a similar company's site, right? Wrong. Firstly, you're stealing their content, which is never a good thing. Second...how do you know they didn't use some shotty online ToS/PP generator or wrote it themselves without any legal knowledge?

In the long run, spend the little bit of cash it will cost you to get a lawyer to write it for you. You may be reluctant to do it, but it can save you (thousand. tens of thousands. even hundreds of thousands.) from lawsuits caused by you not protecting yourself.

More at the Blog of Burgess article on this (the blog of our own DeenaESQ): Why shouldn't you use "free" Terms of Service and Privacy Policies?
