Looking for a true professional to redesign the site: CAPITAL Data Recovery Inc

I am aware that re-designing is harder than designing from scratch; however the layout is attracting many clients, thus I'm willing to keep it as is.

I need to get rid of tables, recode the site by using CSS. At the end, I need new code while the visual appearance of the site doesn't change much.

Send me your PM with the quote. (bonus will be given for a good work).

Experienced pros only. More projects will be given to a gifted designer who is able to do magic.

Looking for the expert who will not be doing this project in gaps between other work. I need the person's concentration and attention.

Waiting for your PM with details (pricing, portfolio, etc).

P.S. Site should also have a PDA version.

We prefer fine lines, modern, simple design. Something like this: http://www.alivedirectory.com , http://www.linksys.com or http://www.cisco.com

Most important: We are a data recovery company, so the site must have technical appearance, not some mickey mouse disney land design. (i.e. tech people in clean room suits, hard drives, circuit board, etc).

Second most important: the design must provide a corporate feel, as the company is a multi-location business, and not just a one man shop.

    ---

Also, looking for a true professional, smart artistic designer who is able to design (redesign/upgrade/etc) a logo for our company. Site Capital Data Recovery Inc
I still would like to see the parliament building on it (could be just a contour - see the sample attached) as this is how people associate us among others, but I am open to suggestions.
Winning contestant will get more projects to do. This contest is to find the best.
Must have marketing skills, as this logo will be used for branding as well.

Again, the best logo will be rewarded and the designer will be given one or more projects to complete at a reasonable $ rate.

Please post your logo samples in this thread.

Thank you in advance and looking forward to see your amazing work!

    Good luck!

PLEASE POST SAMPLES OF YOUR WEB DESIGN AND LOGO DESIGN HERE IN THIS POST.

Winner with the best design will be awarded with the maximum of $500 and the winner with the best logo design - up to $100.

as I said, i am open to suggestions. I'd like to have the parliament building there either just as a curve (see the http://www.alivedirectory.com logo) or any other way. We are located in the capital of Canada and company's name is associated with it. Plus, we've been around for a long time, so people associate us with the parliament building.

The contests are going quite slowly, I think people are on holidays right now. Wait a day or so and you'll have a selection of entries :).

What do you mean - "smarty"? I didn't understand that.

I'd like the site to be built in HTML and CSS.

After a deeper look into your site I saw it is quite simple as structure: some html pages, infos, contact forms.

Well I guess no need for smarty, (http://smarty.php.net/) this would have made you a place where you can change the template more easily in the future, but since you do not use PHP or mysql no need.

I will send u a pm with some of my projects and designs, however this is a big work to do, would take ~ 1 week to redesign, put all together, and in a contest this is not such a good thing, since there is a chance some of us can work for that time, and then not succeed. Not profitable.

Hope you will take my PM in consideration.

    Regards,
    Aszmhodeus

2 eruct: unfortunately no. This is why I started this thread again. I hope someone will do it though. There was one job which was better than the rest, but it still wasn't suitable.

Yes, i agree and understand that it's not profitable, but this is the risk. If someone wins the contest, then he got himself/herself a project, and $. That person will also get more projects in the future.

I understand that many people here freak out when they such post, and think it's complicated. Yes, indeed it is, but look closer and you will understand that the task is quite informative and not that difficult for a person who knows his/her work.

I think a good designer should follow certain guidelines (like here http://brandsoftheworld.com/guidelines/) (Corporate Identity Guidelines) when it comes to designing a logo (color palette, different variations of the logo (B&W, color, fonts, etc). So far some of the (or most of the) logos I saw were designed without marketing approach or idea, this is why we could not choose the winner.

It seems like people prefer to make easy $5-$10 jobs instead of work on some bigger project that involves more work and need an approval.

I am very picky about who to work with, as we are in the process of finding that one person who will take care of the entire branding of the company (corporate identity), so the professional approach is a must.

Help people to understand what you are after from this contest please; are you wanting people to submit entries (ie. designs) or are you wanting people to present their cases as to why you should employ them? There seems to be some confusion.

    Ok, since it's confusing...
First, I wanted people to PM me their work, but all I got so far was the sites they designed (which I didn't like).

So, to make it easier: - please submit your concepts/draft to this post, so we can select the best design and work further with that person.

I need designs of the website and a logo.

Ok guys, I don't want this topic to die, so I am going to be very straightforward.

So far I have received about 3 different website designs. One was...nice, but still not what I was looking for, and two of them were.... not so nice.
So, here is the deal: Today is Thursday, this contest will end on Sunday, January 5th. If I get no serious samples of web design, then there will be no more contests from our company on this forum. However, if we do get a nice design that we like, that person will get "virtual full time job" and will be our designer for many other projects to come.

So, here is what we are requesting, and that is to make your life easier:

    - Looking to UPGRADE/enhance our CURRENT design that will look PROFESSIONALLY. It is totally up to you if you want to do it as Web 2. I am open to any suggestions, as long as the site doesn't look too different. That's why it's a contest. Yes, you risk spending/wasting several hours of your time, however if you win - you get paid and get more projects after. (UP TO $100 for that work. Just front page design for starters).
Keep in mind that the design/upgrade MUST represent the fact that it's not a small one room business, but a CORPORATION with several offices. Also, I don't want it to look like some online magazine. It's a ENGINEERING/TECHNICAL company that does Hard Drive Data Recovery.

    - LOGO. Same with logo. Got about 6 different samples. None of them were good. Looks like people just draw some nice symbols without applying the idea of who we are and what we do...
So, to make YOUR and MY life easier, I have attached a logo in my first message (the logo which is on the left) that I need you to upgrade.
For the logo I will pay UP to $40, since it has already been designed. I need you to work on font, and anything else you feel is going to make it look PROFESSIONAL and CORPORATE. It has to be like our "Corporate Signature".

Remember, you have till Sunday, January 5th.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing your great work!
