During the last decade web content writing has grown to be an important part of SEO service. Today it is an independent profession pursued by many educated and skilled professionals. You will find a number of online training institutes mushrooming in the web to offer professional courses on “how to write web contentâ€. Is professional training necessary for writing web content? Is content writing that difficult that one can not start it without any professional training in it? The answer is: No. If you have the flair of writing in English and you possess a strong sense of grammar you can give it a try. But then there certainly are some factors that distinguish web copy writing from traditional copy writing. Know them to become a successful content writer. Web users skim text, they don’t read… A recent study reveals about 80% of web users just skim the content. To make the important point easily noticeable strategic use of bullet points, bold font and highlights are more common and appreciable in web copy writing. Web content is shorter than print… Radiations from computer screen stress the human eye and thus slow down the process of reading about 25% than normal reading speed. One idea for one paragraph… Readers on the web are averse to information overloading. Hence, focus one idea in one paragraph instead of jumbling up multiple points in one big paragraph. If one point is too long break it in two or three small paragraphs with a relevant sub heading. Mixing up all points in one will only confuse readers and drive them away from your site. Readers are skeptic… Readers look for information on the web and they tend to be skeptic about what they read. So research well on the topic and make sure you provide the correct and useful information to users. Keywords are important… The goal of web content writing is all about reaching the target audience. Keywords (search terms relevant to the topic) are the means to pull the targeted traffic to your website. It also helps in contextual link building. So using keywords for at least once or twice in the content is one important aspect of this form of writing. Using Google Insights... Google Insights can be a very useful tool for advertisers and content creators. It allows you to look for information based on trending interests, which is great for new topic ideas and also keywords. Keyword tools such as this can be very helpful when it comes to creating high quality content. Popular keywords will generate more traffic and are great for SEO.
