Hi i've just come across a free version web CEO on my .net magazine disc. it seems alright with several features, keyword suggestion stuff (i guess fro overture) - the thing that interests me the most is the keyword ranking feature which has a wide number of different SE's you can monitor - i just had a quick go but got errors on each keyword - i've tried registering it (as i think this might be whats causing the errors) but my question is this - before i expend any more time fiddling with this thing and trying to register etc - has anyone else used it - do they value/rate it? and most importantly - is there any evidence of it being "detected" and IP addresses penalised for it's use? (it claims to be safe but i don't know if i believe it or not) thanks
I use it quite a bit. You can use your Google API key to keep the ranking portion safe (for Google, at least). It has some features that I never use, but some features that I would be lost without. All in all, it's a useful tool.
thanks - i think one of the things i would probably use it for the most would be keyword ranking on MSN and Yahoo (as the DP tracker covers google)-and AFAIK there isn't an equivalent of googles API key for these engines - do you use it for these engines? - or have you ever heard of anyone being penalised for using on these engines?
I use the paid version, the one for $15 or so. Works fine although it chews up your RAM. I needed the cheap paid version so I could follow more keywords. I am very curious about the statement made about the possibility of using the tool hurting ones ranking. I use it frequently. Thanks!
No, it can't hurt your ranking - if it could, then you could just check all your competitor's sites and hurt theirs. A search engine can ban your IP from accessing their search engine however. Still, web ceo claims to check rankings in a way that emulates user searches. True or not - don't know. One of those things you either trust or don't.
Hy there. Did enyone tried WebCeo software? I tested for a few month and, wow, so many features... I was really impressed, but the first question is: Do you really need so many features? Second: Does this software has at least one feature who works well? No! It does a lot, but no one works well at a high level... for such a PRICE! I tested other software like WebCeo: Web Position Gold, Advanced Web Ranking, Dynamic Web Ranking, Agent Web Ranking. From this four tools, Advanced Web Ranking has powerfull, and some of them, unique features. First of all is cheapper than other, works well, it is search engine frendly (all the other tools mentioned above are not! They say they are search engine frendly but if you will test them you will have the big surprise to have your IP banned!). You can even compare your site position with your competitors websites (for different keywords). It is amazing the existence of so many differences between these tools. The differences from standard to professional are huge. You are forced to pay a lot of money to have all the features they offer you. In the standard version you don't have all the features; all you have is very limited (Number of domains in a project - limited, Number of keywords in a project - limited). AdvancedWR has no such limitations. Also, only with AWR you can make graphical ranking reports for tracking the ranking over time. I made a project with my site for different keywords, for 8 competitor sites, for 7 days, I put it to make update every day and to send me reports by email in pdf format. I was impressed by the Rank Evolution Report: in this report I saw exactly when my competitors made changes in ther sites, when they ranked on search engines and for what keywords their rankings are higher than mine. I will come with more testing results.
No -sorry - i didn't mean effect your ranking for your site - i meant get your IP address (of whatever computer you use the "offending" product on) banned - ie banned from making anymore automated queries or using the search engine manually. as mentioned above if you've got your google api then that allows1,000 queries per day (for google) and thats more than you'd ever want to use - so that covers google - it's just AFAIK yahoo and MSN don't have api equivalents- i wish they did - then i'd feel safe - oh well - i'll check it out anyway-i'm sure someone would have heard of something if it had happened. i'll just not go crazy with it
Yeah, advanced web ranking may be good it tracking your website's positions, generating reports, etc. But actually I don't like its interface. It takes time to get used to it. When you first open AWR you can get lost among all that bunch of buttons... Just my personal opinion. Besides the ranking data it provides is not always accurate As for WEB CEO, I can say that it has limits on keyword suggestions and absolutely useless in competition research. Too many features are missing for such a price. I would recommend you SEO PowerSuite. I've been using it for about 6 months and become a fan of it. It consists of 4 separate SEO tools that will help you tackle all challenges of website optimization process. Check it out. For me its the best choice.
