Web 2.0 was made because users started adding their own content... Before it was admin that adds content, and that was it.. now it isn't... The web is ruled by the users, not by the admins Or do you mean something else? Greetz
Web 2.0 is a trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to facilitate creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. These concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies (the practice of catgorising content through tags). Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but to changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the internet.
There is no such thing as Web 2.0 other than an idea for Web applications to share data among each other. See: Semantic Web.
Those are social bookmarking and networking sites, which have nothing to do with the actual concept of Web 2.0 yet often get lumped in there anyway. (That being said, they do take advantage of some of the Web 2.0 core tenets.)
Web 2.0 is like a demand-supply business.. wheareas Social Media Optimization is an essential part of this...
Web 2.0 design? Like rounded corners, logos with reflections, etc. This thread has high-quality answers, but for some (many) people Web 2.0 is just a buzzword and a hot, current trend to follow. Seth's Blog: Web4 "Web4 is what I'm really waiting for..." ...Web4 is about making connections, about serendipity and about the network taking initiative... ...This stuff creeps some people out.
I'll let Tim O'Reilly do that for me: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/oreilly/tim/news/2005/09/30/what-is-web-20.html
I think it's a little difficult to develop a web 2.0 site. Just notice that Pownce will be shutting off on Dec. 15. So sad about this news.
